South Africa survive Samoan scare

AUCKLAND, 30 Sept. - Samoa captain Mahonri Schwalger was left to rue his team's wasted opportunities as they fell 13-5 to South Africa in a physical encounter at North Harbour Stadium on Friday. The Samoans enjoyed long periods of possession in the second half but were unable to make it count on the scoreboard.

Blackenbrook Riesling Trophy and Special Offer

Our Riesling 2009 has just brought home the TROPHY from the First XV Wine Competition! This is an international event held here in Nelson taking the rivalry off the rugby field and into the winery. New Zealand, Italy and the USA put their best Aromatics foreward to be judged by an international panel. The best fifteen (First XV) Pinot Gris, Rieslings and Gewurztraminers were selected and Trophy winners announced at a spectacular Degustation Dinner at Woollaston Estates.

Tears shed in memory of special aquarium

Tears were shed and happy times remembered during a special memorial service to remember the sea creatures who lost their lives when Mapua's Touch the Sea Aquarium was burnt to the ground. More than 350 people – half of whom were children – attended the memorial which took place between the charred site and the Mapua wharf yesterday afternoon.

Georgia savour record night against Romania

Mamuka Gorgodze became his country’s leading try-scorer outright while the Lelos kicked six penalties in a World Cup match for the first time - and the most by any team at this tournament.

Rainbow Closing for the season this Sunday

After a sensational season at Rainbow , the 2011 season is coming to an end. Warm weather, and the approach of long summer days sees the season closing this Sunday the 2nd of October. So that gives you 4 days of skiing and boarding to go. We still have great snow cover over the mountain, and the Spring conditions are excellent. All Facilities are operating, Cafe, Shuttles, Rentals an Ski School are all open.
