christmas lights at skycity
SKYCITY Auckland is building on the success of its Federal Street bar and restaurant precinct, by decking the street, which runs between the SKYCITY Hotel & Casino and the SKYCITY Grand Hotel, with 30,000 Christmas lights.
The big light-up took place on Wednesday night with broadcaster Paul Henry doing the honours, and members from the successful SKYCITY Breakers, The Blues and the Vodafone Warriors also there. At the same time the Sky Tower lit up in its Christmas colours – a green stem, a red top and a sparkle over the top of the actual tower mimicking a star at the top of
a Christmas tree.
Santa is ensconced 220m up in his magical Sky Tower Grotto on the Sky Deck and kids 6-15 years get Total Tower admission free when accompanied by a full paying adult (one child per adult).
